Born To Gamble

Two Tuesday nights have come and gone. The first, I was a LOSER...Last hand, a $3.00 blind stuck me in the hole. Couldn't believe it that I had to score a loser over the last blind.
Now I really do believe my soul purpose on this earth is to gamble. What--you don't believe me??? Well, maybe I have other purposes, also~~but I do know my soul loves the thrill of the win.
This week I won a whopping $327.00. I had them so frazzled that at 10:00 they were side betting who would beat me first,JA or SG. Guess what, neither one of them beat me once after that. I actually sent JA to bed at a quarter to midnight. I believe I heard him babbling to himself as he crawled out the door. How stupid is that to bet against me when I am winning??? First of all, I am not going to play in a hand agaist either one of them unless I can win. I don't want to hear their satisfaction of dragging in that $10.00. Plus, imagine this--each time I am in a hand, they both call me trying to beat me. How sweet is that?? They have to call me down to the end to make sure one of them might just drag the pot. So, from 10:00 on, I played only sure hands and not once did they score the $10.00. It's a little strange to have them gang up on me like that, but I gotta love the action :)
Best hand of the night was my 4 jacks. I drug a $100.00 pot with those babies.
Wonder what next week will bring on?
Check in to see if I really am born to win...loose...or just plain gamble!
Remember to know when to fold em!

TOURNAMENT PLAY

Hey all,
Today I played a small $55.00 tournament. It started out with small blinds--no limit. $2,500. in chips, 20 minute rounds. First round, I called a few blinds, nothing exciting. Second round I pick up AK not suited, on the button. I won that one without a call. (Raised to $350 pre-flop & checked around to me on the flop. I bet the pot size, about half of my stack, and drug it in.) From that point, I was moved around to 4 tables. I won a few small stack and was keeping up with the chip count average on the monitor.

After the break things started moving. People with short stacks were desperate and I managed to double up. I threw away AQ on the button once when 3 people went all in. I would have won that pot. But I never feel bad about throwing away a winner if I have a good sized stack in front of me. Once we started to ante, I picked up a few nice hands--never any big pockets, only face cards. I played my position well--took advantage of the blinds only a couple of times. Both times I had over cards to draw to if I was called, which I was not.

Finally, when I made it to the final table we agreed to save our buy-ins, the top 10 . Next I picked up AJ of diamonds and won a good sized pot from the chip leader. I raised pre-flop, he called. We both checked on the flop--turn I bet half of my stack. No pair--very scarey play. I have played with him before and know he plays pretty close to the chest. He laid down his hand and I didn't really have to play another hand because I was way ahead in chip count. I did pick up a pair of KK and raised and won the antes. I kicked myself after the hand because I could have made a bad move there and got involved in that hand. Its hard to know at that point if you should defend your stack or sit back and let them kill themselves. Since we were down to 5 players I chose the later. In the end they split 3 ways & i took $1000. They offered me $900 but I stuck by my offer of $1000 and they agreed. Really surprised me because the player that wanted to spit had close to the same size stack as mine.

All in all, it was an easy tournament for me to play. It was like they all rolled over and played dead. I don't know why some days great cards knock you out fast and then some days simple cards rake in the chips??? I played the players and not the cards today. I watched the short stackers and took advantage of them. I stayed away from the tight players at all costs. I was surprised how many people were behind my play and wishing me well. Too bad they aren't all this easy. Easy Street that was the name of this game...
Later--

IT'S IN THE BLOOD...

Hi all,
Tonight I am thinking about gambling blood. I truley believe I got the gambling blood that runs in my father. It ran right into my viens. He loved to play poker as do I. Unfortunately, my kids have that same blood in their viens. I wonder if they did a study *how much would it cost* what would it turn up. How many poker players learned from their family. Genetic or Learned behavior? I hope I learned a little more then the genetic factor from my father. He wasn't the worst player on the planet, but he loved to gamble. He walked away with chips--only if the game broke up around him. He could sit at a table longer then anybody I know.

Once I actually saw a man named Tex pee on the floor under the table. He was an old Montana rancher--stuck a few thousand in a low ball game. He wouldn't get up for anything. He was sure that wheel was coming. Can you just imagine the horror and yelling and swearing at that table when he just pulled it out and whizzed on the floor right there???? True story.

Kinda off track here. Just thought of that incident and wanted to share it with ya all. I don't like to stay at the table too long. If I am winning--all night is okay. If I am losing, I usually give it up and wait for a new day. I am not one of the players that sends good money after bad. If the cards aren't coming--give it up. Tomorrow is a new day. You usually start playing bad when you are losing--i.e. full tilt.

Will talk about tournament play later this week. Hold em high, Hold em close & Rake in the chips.

Winner Winner

Yes, as the saying goes, winner winner-chicken dinner! Well, I did it again. $400 this week. Wow. It just keeps rolling in. How do I do it?? Well, first of all rule:
#1. Don't play if you can't afford to lose. If you are playing and worrying about the loss-you are sure to loose.
#2. Don't gamble on borrowed money. You will never play strong on someone else's $$.
#3. If the cards aren't coming, do not try to force them. They will be there when they are ready.
#4. Always stay positive. If you start whinning and b**tching--you will start throwing away those chips.
#5. Never let them see you weak.. If you seem weak, they will devour you.

Have fun and don't use the milk money. More to come later--I am still tired from last nights play.

Lucky?

Tomorrow is the weekly event. The "main event" as I like to think of it, lol. My husband will aske me on the way to the game if I feel lucky? He swears he can feel it--when the poker God's are on his side. Now, I can't actually say I ever felt IT. rofl I do ocassionally get the feeling to raise a hand or play one that is coming. Then, it magically wins. But I also can say that I have that feeling, I raise and nothing happens. So, hummm--how does one know if it truely is THE BIG ONE???

Maybe I should keep track of those BIG ONES? I have to come up with some unique, low fat, low carb snack. I am currently on a diet bing. We will see how that pans out. Wonder who the fish will be this week. Certainly hope I am not the live one. Also hope Mr. Bill, aka hubby, is not the live one either. Makes for a verrrryyyy long week when he loses.

Will keep you posted on W/L record.

Poker

Hey to all u poker players out there. Life as a poker player isn't always a highway. Most definitely not the highway to Heaven. You really do need to know when to hold-em and when to fold-em.
My weekly group is about to fold me, tho. They are a bunch of fish in the sea. You all would love to sit next to any of them. Player D is the leader of the pack. He calls all, bets all, and blinds all. Every good game had a Player D. Then there is Player BL. He laughs his way thru each and every pot. He truley loves the game--losses and all. I can't say wins cuz so far i haven't seen one from him.
Where do I fit into this little nest???? I was invited--yes I was invited, to play about 1 year ago. Player D detests me but in some weird way he is sure he can syphone his money from my pocket back to his. NOT IN HIS LIFETIME. These are going to be some of my weekly adventures in the gambling world. I will try not to bore you with bad beats--*unless there is a jackpot involved. The stories should be amuzing , amazing and my life is always a cheap thrill. Join me whenever you feel the need for poker horror and laughter.
